What this practice will help you express
This practice will help you make invitations, suggest activities to do together, offer to do something, ask for or give permission, state what is not allowed, describe actions in progress, and connect several actions into a sequence.
You will work on distinctions such as inviting someone with ～ませんか, proposing a shared action with ～ましょう, and offering help or suggesting your own participation with ～ましょうか. You will also practice using ～てもいいです for permission, ～てはいけません for prohibitions, ～ています for what someone is doing now, and the て-form to describe one action followed by another.
The situations focus on making plans with friends and family, especially for evenings and weekends: meeting someone, going to the zoo or another place, taking a train, waiting at an entrance, eating ramen, walking in a park, and talking about what people are currently doing. The exercises also include rules about appropriate behavior in places such as classrooms and meetings.
After completing this practice, you should be better able to arrange simple outings, suggest what to do next, offer assistance, discuss permission and rules, report ongoing activities, and describe a short sequence of everyday actions.
Shadowing Exercise
Summary: Two people make plans to go to the zoo on Friday evening. They will meet at the station, enjoy seeing the animals and taking photos, and then eat ramen together nearby.
This exercise complements the shadowing training in the YomiNihongo app.

If you finished the Text Recreation Exercise, try this additional Visual Writing Exercise. The picture shows the actions and situation only. There is no dialogue in the image. Use the scenes to imagine what the characters are saying.
Then, write your own short Japanese text or dialogue describing the situation.
Try to use the vocabulary and grammar from this lesson, but you may also use other words and grammar you know.
Theme: Weekend Invitation
Situation: Two friends are talking at school. One of them is a little tired because they studied a lot this week. The other invites them to go out over the weekend. They plan to visit a place near the station, have something simple to eat, and then take a walk in a park.
Try to use some of these words in your text or dialogue.
