You will practice distinguishing この／その／あの and これ／それ／あれ, saying that people or objects exist with います and あります, and describing ongoing actions with ～ています. You also work with で to indicate where an action takes place and が to connect contrasting ideas.

The vocabulary supports simple conversations about school, office work, and personal belongings. You discuss classrooms, desks, bags, umbrellas, notebooks, newspapers, magazines, documents, and jobs, while also identifying whose objects you are looking at.
